Wireless networks are connectionless networks. They are part of the network. It is just that they are not connected using wires.

Wireless networks are used to connect two or more computers together without the use of cables.

They become popular due to the fact that they are easy to configure. We also need to understand this is the era of mobile devices and laptops. People will not want to be fixed in a single place.

Most of the time, when you visit hotels, restaurants, hospitals and other public places. they do provide wireless connections with little or no security. You can be easily attacked if you connect to a network that has little or no security in place.

We also have a Service Set Identifier (SSID) which is the name of the network, All wireless points must connect to the same network in order for them to communicate with one another.

How to set up a wireless Access Points…
In order for you to set up a wireless network. you have to have a wireless router. Some allow you to configure the wireless though command line is also known as CLI, while some does not allow you to configure the Access Point through the Command Line Interface. You also need a wireless adapter and an internet connection.

In the Start search box, type Network and select Network and Sharing Centre.
Click set up a new connection or network
Click setup a new network and click next.
Select manage network from Network and Sharing centre.
Click Add if you are asked to How do you want to add a network
Select manually create a network profile

This is how you can change wireless network configuration…
Check the option Start this connection automatically and Connect even if the network is not broadcasting. Then click Next.
Select Change connection settings.
Uncheck the option connect to a more preferred network if available in the Connection tab
Select the Security tab next to Microsoft Protected EAP (PEAP) click Settings.

Action Point
