What to do when you lose your Android phone

Losing a smartphone is something unpredictable and uncontrollable. This has happened to all of us at least once, so we understand the panic we feel when we lose it. This is because within them we have stored a lot of valuable information for us, but what we forget is that this data is often very sensitive, and in the wrong hands can cause too many problems.

At the moment of losing the phone, as the most logical solution we think of finding the lost phone instantly, but what we really need to do is not to waste time and ask Google.

Here’s what to do immediately when you lose an Android smartphone:

-Write Find my phone on Google on any device that is connected to the Internet.
-Sign in with your Google account. But beware, you need to log in with the same account with which you were logged into your lost smartphone.
-Google will immediately show you the location of your smartphone.

After the Find my phone function, your Android smartphone has been detected, but its physical location must be found, so click on the Play Sound function, which will send a ringtone to your smartphone for 5 minutes without interruption, even if you have it without voice.

But there are times when your phone may have fallen into the wrong hands, and maybe getting on the phone can be a not-so-smart solution. So if your phone is stolen, you should lock it remotely, not allowing anyone to get inside your smartphone.

Here are the steps you need to follow in order to lock your android phone remotely:

-Go to the website android.com/find and log in to your Google account.
-If you have more than one android partition, click on the Lost device function positioned at the top of the page.
-If your lost device has more than one user profile, select that main profile to log in.
There are times when your device may not be available right away, but at least Google can tell you where your smartphone was last.
-If you click on the Enable lock & erase function, you can lock your phone remotely. With enable lock, you can set a password or pin on your smartphone even if it does not have one.
-If you choose to click on the erase (delete) function, you will delete any information inside your phone without going back. Warning, after clicking on this command, you can no longer use the Find my device function.
