In my previous article, I have looked at some of the ways that users can secure devices. This includes the prevention of fire in the rooms where devices are kept. Prevention of fire will go a long way in securing information stored on devices.
In this article, I want to look at how you can make use of Heating, ventilating, air conditioning technology in ensuring that devices are secured. This will go a long way in increasing the lifespan of devices. Follow me as we look at some of the reasons why we need HVAC in a room.
The technology called HVAC is been deployed for environmental consideration so that the room will be comfortable for habitation.
when you are considering using HVAC technology, you should note that physical hardware devices come with environmental requirements that include acceptable temperature and humidity ranges. Environmental requirements are usually described in a product specifications document or in a physical planning guide.
Also, a secluded place called plenums often allocated to a house and allow air circulation for HVAC and communication cabling, typically in the space between the structural ceiling and a drop-down ceiling or under a raised floor.
Here are the three main uses of HVAC…
#1 Controlling room temperature as part of HVAC consideration
HVAC helps in controlling room temperature. It specifies what should be done in order to ensure that there is cross ventilation in any room.
#2 adequate ventilation as part of HVAC consideration
Also, technology is been provided in order to provide adequate ventilation for hardware and devices. This ensures that fresh air is been provided in order to prevent overheating and other damages that might happen to computer devices.
#3 Indoor air quality as part of HVAC considerations
The use of HVAC considerations is also to ensure that there is the adequate indoor air quality in the room where hardware is placed. It is to ensure that employees can work comfortably as well as ensuring the durability of systems.
saving computer devices from fire incidence…
For some weeks now, I have been talking about how you can manage the physical security of devices. You need to ensure that you are putting appropriate measures in place in order to secure your devices. In this article, I want to look at nine ways that you can prevent fire inferno from destroying your devices. Follow me as we look at that in this article.
#1 Emergency doors
One of the first practical steps that you need to take is to ensure that the emergency doors are clear. There should be no baggage on the ways to the computer room or passages so that people can have easy access in and out of the corridor.
#2 quality wiring as part of the HVAC Security measures
One of the other main challenges that we can have when it comes to fire incidence is the issue of poor wiring. You need to be sure that the wires used for the building are up to the required standard. It is better to use a quality wire than to wait for a disaster to happen. When this is allowed to happen. The cost of damage may be unbearable.
#3 mild electrical shock as part of the HVAC Security measures
Also, when you are trying to prevent fire incidence in any environment at any given time, you have to make sure you are not using equipment or tools that give a mild shock. Such a scenario can be escalated when we have fire incidence or other unfavourable conditions that can lead to shocks.
#4 dust free
Another practical step that you should take when you are trying to prevent fire inferno in an ICT environment is to ensure that computers are placed in a clean environment. You have to make sure that the rooms are dust-free. There is a need for you to also ensure that there is cross-ventilation across the rooms as well.
#5 empty the trash when saving computer devices from fire
There is a need for you to ensure that the trash is emptied regularly. You need to ensure that there is a clean environment where computer devices are placed to avoid the issue of fire incidence at all times.
#6 unplugging appliances when saving computer devices from fire as part of the HVAC Security measures
As we all know that prevention is better than cure. In order to have a safe environment to work, you need to inform your employees that all electrical appliances must be unplugged while everyone leaves the building. This is to prevent cases of power upsurge that can lead to fire incidences.
#7 You need to know who to call when saving computer devices from fire as part of the HVAC Security measures
There is an obvious need for you to know who to call in case of emergency. This is must be boldly printed in a visible location where everyone can see it. This is going to reduce the level of damages where there are fire incidences. There is also the need for everyone to know the appropriate steps to follow when there are fire accidents as well.
#8 know-how as part of the HVAC Security measures
On a final note, you need to train your employees on how to use a fire extinguisher when there are fire accidents. This will ensure that whoever is in duty when accidents occur can quickly arrest the situation before it escalates at any given time.
Now your take on this argument.
