Project Manager leadership styles are one of the factors that determine the outcome of projects. Project Manager may use different leadership styles for their team members. The style a Project Manager select may be a personal preference or the result of the combination of multiple factors associated with the project.
The style a Project Manager use may change over time based on the factors in play.
#1 LEADER CHARACTERISTICS
This has to do with the attitude, moods, value as well as the personal ethics of the Project Manager involved.
#2 TEAM MEMBERS
The Project Manager might also choose his leadership styles based on the attitudes, needs, values and ethics of the team members that such Project Manager is dealing with.
#3 ORGANISATIONAL CHARACTERISTICS
The Project Manager as a person can also choose his leadership styles based on the type of organisation that he founds himself. This might have to do with the purpose or structure of the organisation as well as the type of work that needed to perform in such an organisation.
#4 ENVIRONMENTAL CHARACTERISTICS
The Project Manager might also choose his leadership styles based on the social situation in the organisation. It might also be based on the economic situation of the organisation on the politics in such an organisation.
