5 Project Management Choices for Project Integration

 

When it comes to Project Management integration, there are some project management choices that one need to make. This might not be popular choices most of the times.

 

Project Integration Management includes the processes and activities to identify, combine, unify and coordinate the various processes and project management activities within the project management process groups.

 

In the project management context, integration includes characteristics of unification, consolidation communication and interrelationships. These actions should be applied from the start of the project through completion.

 

When it comes to project integration, the Project Manager needs to make project management choices about:

#1 Resource allocation

The Project Manager and the project stakeholders need to make project choices about resource allocation. He needs to know how the various resource available will be used to achieve project objectives.

 

In reality, the Project Manager needs to carefully study the organisational structure that he founds himself in order to make an effective project decision.

 

#2 Balance competing demands

The Project Manager as part of his project management choices needs to decide on how competing demands will be balanced. at times, the main resource for a project will also have to perform official duties.

 

This might limit the time available for project works. The Project Manager needs to discuss with functional managers on how resources will be made available for the project.

#3 Alternative approaches

The Project Manager also needs to decide on.alternative approaches for the project. The Project Manager and stakeholders in their bid to avoid risks will have to decide on alternatives ways of achieving project goals.

 

He will have to decide on the means of achieving project goals.

#4 Tailoring

The Project Manager needs to tailor resources at his disposal in order to achieve project goals.

#5 Manage interdependencies

The Project Manager also needs to manage interdependencies among various project management knowledge areas for the project. He has to think of how the various project knowledge areas will work together in order to achieve project objectives.

 

He must be able to work with team members and project stakeholders in order to achieve project goals.
