I know the word Operations Management is not strange to us. It has to do with day to day activity that is been performed in order to ensure that an organisation continue to reap the benefits of executing a project.
Operation Mnagement are departments in the organisation that are responsible for overseeing, directing, and controlling business operations that supports day to dayactivities performed to meet the strategic objectives of a project. What some of us performs in our various offices are part of operations.
I have said it in one of my articles that a Project has a beginning and end date. Also, a project has a unique result but an operation involves monotonous tasks that do not have beginning or end. Therefore, If I am employed as a Secretary in an office, what I am performing is operations management not project.
