Organisational Process Assets are tools and processes as well as procedures that organisations have at their disposal that can help their project to succeed. Such processes and tools have been used over time and they have proved to be successful. In this article, I want to look at some OPAs that can be used to develop project management plans for project. 

 

In looking at a successful project, there are some OPA tools that can influence the develop project management plans. That process includes standard policies and procedures, processes and procedures that have been used severally and have proved to be effective. This has made the organisation to accept it as part of the norm in the organisation.

There are some templates on a different aspect of the plan that the organisation might have created that can be deployed when they are developing the plan. Some of these templates have been customized to suit the need of the organisation. They might include guidelines and criteria for tailoring the organisation’s set of standard processes to satisfy the specific needs of the project.

#3 CHANGE CONTROL

 Another important OPA tools for these plans has to do with change control procedures. This include steps by which official organisational standards, policies, plans, procedures or any project document will be approved and validated for the project.

 

#4 Monitoring and reporting method

This has to do with means of monitoring and reporting activities of the project. This includes put in place to control for risks of the project based on probability and impact of those risks as well as the establishing communication requirements for the project. 

 

#5  SIMILAR PROJECTS

In the develop project management plan process group, the Project Manager has to look at similar information that they can focus on include cost, schedule, and performance measurement baseline, project calendars, schedule network diagram as well as risk register for similar projects.

 

#6 REPOSITORY

Last of the OPA tools that the Project Manager must consider is historical documents and lesson learned repository for previous projects. The Project Manager needs to ensure that some errors of the past are not repeated, That is why they have to look at lesson learned repository of previous projects and make sure that those errors are not repeated.
