The key benefit of this process is that it decomposes work packages into schedule activities. This will now provide a basis for estimating, scheduling, executing, monitoring and controlling the project work. This process can actually be performed throughout the project. The Project Management Plan as a document covers many documents that address different aspects of a project. It talks about all that you need to consider when it comes to what will happen on the project from the beginning to the end of the project.

This talks about how all the activities for the project will be defined, analysed and controlled from the beginning of the project to the end of the project. It also defines the methodology, as well as durations for rolling wave planning as well as the level of details needed for the project activities.
