In my previous article, I have talked about some of the components of performance reports for a project. In this article, I want to talk about some of the benefits of creating performance reports for projects. Follow me as we look at that together in this article.

#1 Current Status

One of the things that the performance report will do is that it will show us the current status of our schedule and budget. It will allow the project manager to see what is happening presently to the project in terms of cost and schedule. They will also be able to decide on the next line of action as well.

#2 Feedback

Performance reports also provide reports and feedback to team members and work package owners. It also than to know the state of the requests. They will also be able to make suggestions if the deliverables are not up to the standards that they are expecting.

 

#3 Communication

Performance reports are also a form of communication with upper management and customers on the status of deliverables. It allows the management to know how far the project manager and his team have been able to achieve project goals. It also allows them to know how they can come in to collaborate with team members in order to achieve project goals.

#4 Variance detection

Performance reports also help with early detection of variance for the project. It is a powerful tool that can assist the Project Manager to detect the differences between what they planned and what is actually happening on the project. This can help in putting a project in a proper perspective and remove all the causes of variances for the project.

 

#5 Early corrections

It also assists with the early correction of errors. With regular reports submitted at the interval for the project, the project managers can detect errors and see ways of correcting the error before it does more damages to the project.
