Six steps to follow when creating a CRM Data warehouse

In this article, I want to look at the six basic steps that we need to follow when we need to create a customer centric data warehouse for a customer centric enterprise. Follow me as we look at this together.

gather requirements
One of the first steps in creating a customer centric data warehouse is to gather the requirements for the warehouse. As a CRM mobiliser, you need to know what is required of you in order to create an effective warehouse. This will help you to know what is and what is not part of your requirements.

understanding line of business

This is also one of the important components of CRM data warehouse creation. If I want to create a software for banking operation, I need to know how banking process works in order to come up with an all embracing. So also, when you are trying to develop a CRM data warehouse, you need to understand what the organisation is all about in order to come up with a comprehensive data warehouse.

design schemas
The term “schema” refers to the organization of data as a blueprint of how the database is constructed (divided into database tables in the case of relational databases). The formal definition of a database schema is a set of formulas (sentences) called integrity constraints imposed on a database. Schema from the word scheme can be seen as a set of rules that you intend to apply to our data.

create etl template
One other thing that we need to talk about is the Extract, Transfer and Load Template. This guides the procedure of extracting data from different channels, removal of all those data that are not really needed and loading of useful data into the data warehouse.

build queries for analysis
In developing your CRM Data warehouse, after you might have developed your database, you need to find out if it is working as expected. In doing that, there is the need for you to come up with an hypothesis which you will use to cross check your data in order to determine whether it is working very well or not. This must be done before the whole development is been introduced into a live environment.

implementing and testing
After you might have tested the database for any errors, you need to correct the error and get ready to introduce the new software to a live environment. This will allow you to see how the software(s) will work in a live environment. That does not mean further amendment cannot be done if there is a need for it.
