These are the ways that Data warehouse can increase customers experience…
In my previous article, I have tried to look at some of the major characteristics of a data warehouse.
I have also look at some of the features that make data warehouse to be different from Operational Data Store.
In this article, therefore, I want to look at some basic things that data warehouse will do to your data. Follow me as we do this together.
The data warehouse has the capability to identify duplication in data. It can identify similarities in data, even though those data are coming from different sources.
I want to give you this example to drive home my illustration of how data warehouse works.
Just imagine now that you are using Teracopy to send files from your Local C to a removable drive if you are sending a file that is already in the destination that you are trying to send to.
You are bound to receive a notification that the file already exists, it is now left for you to decide the fate of the new data that you are trying to send.
The same thing applies to a data warehouse. It is just a repository of data from different sources.
enforce processes when you want to increase customers experience
The data warehouse is also programmed to fix data in the operational sources.
This process can be used to decide on how data are being captured from different sources.
It can also be adapted to decide on which data are being captured from different sources based on the quality of the data as well as the number of transactions entered.
It might also be based on rules set up by the creators of the data warehouse.
The data warehouse also has the capability to identify those operating systems that cannot be fixed.
This might include ageing systems or those that could no longer support the new data capture requirement for customer relationship management.
At times also, some of those that data error cannot be fixed are jettisoned in the process of loading data from the operational data store to the CRM Data warehouse.
problem fixing when you want to increase customers experience
The data warehouse also has the ability to fix some of the errors that data might have in the process of acquiring data.
Some data might be generated with codes that are no longer in use. All these can be corrected by the data warehouse as it prepares the data for use in the strategic decision making of the organisation.
