Firstly, in managing any I.T project in any organization, there are two key stakeholders that are involved. We have the Business community and the I.T community. In order for any Information Technology project to succeed, there must be a cordial relationship between the I.T and business community.


Also,  they have to constantly communicate and be on the same page. When this is in place, the chances of having a successful project is very high. Now I want to look at the goals of Business Relationship management in any I.T Project. Follow me as we look at this together in this article.

Also, when you have a good business relationship with the business community, you will be able to understand customer needs. It is very clear that the I.T people do not relate directly to customers.


Therefore as I.T Project Manager, you need to relate to the Front Office in order to understand the challenges of customers. This will help you to understand the features that your applications should have.

One of the benefits of I.T Business Relationship Management is that it will assist the organisation in meeting customers’ needs. With it, the organisation can liaise with the I.T teams on how some of these needs can be turned into applications for customers use. This will enable the organisation to increase customers satisfaction. It will also enable them to build a loyal customer base.

When an organisation have a good business relationship management in place3, it will enable them to establish boundaries, capabilities and cost. It will help you to know what is covered and what is not covered in your application development.


This will assist the organisation in avoiding unnecessary costs associated with app development. This cost can now be used in developing other aspects of the organisation that needs attention.
