Data Encryption Standards are the name of the Federal Information Processing Standard which describes the Data Encryption Algorithms. (DEA).

The body specifies the conditions and programming standards for encryption. They have procedures to follow if you want to save data.

This helps in preventing information from falling into wrong hands. This also guides organisations or software development firm that might want to come up with Data encryption software. This is the need to guarantee data integrity. 

Data encryption standards should be used when you are sending out messages.  This is because your messages can fall into wrong hands.


The can be hijacked by Hackers.  This has led many innocent souls in jail. At times, you cannot deny that you do not know about the crime. You have to make use of a credible channel when you are sending data or mail to third parties.

Data Encryption Algorithm is also used for single use encryption. It can be used to store files on a hard disk in an encrypted form.

As one of the Data Encryption standards, this type of encryption standard has a 128 block size. It has key sizes of 128, 192, and 256 bits respectively for Advanced Encryption Standards.

This includes 128, AES 192 and AES 256. It is more secure than other methods. It has the capability of protecting end to end communication.

When you use this for sending data, you will be able to prevent hackers from hijacking your sent data.  Use of Encryption also guarantees non-repudiation for sent data. The person that sent the message cannot deny sending it.
