In many of my previous article, I have talked about what Search Engine Optimization is as well as some of the reasons why you should take SEO serious for your website.

 

In this article, I want to quickly talk about two main thing that you should take serious when setting SEO goals and objectives. Follow me as we look at this together in this article.

 

Identify website targets

One of the first main thing that you should take serious when setting Search Engine Optimization goals and Objectives is to know the target that you have for your website.

 

You have to know your goals for the website as well as what you set to achieve at the end of the day. Without a set goal, you will just be working aimlessly without working towards any set goal.

Your goal might be to be one of the 10 leading blog in your niche in the next ten years. You might be targeting having one million unique visitor in the next five years as well.

 

You might also have the goal of increasing your lead conversion to 30 percent in the next two years.

 




 

Set measurable targets

It is one thing to set a goal, it is quite another thing for your goal to be realistic. You have to set realistic goal for your SEO process that can be measured. That means you must have Key Performance Indicator that you will use to measure your goals. You can also set an interval that you will always access your goal in order to see how far you have gone.

 

You need to know how many online purchases you are targeting in the next five months. If you achieve it, then you know that you need to set a higher target for yourself.

 

You can also aim at increase sign up on your website as well. This can be another goal that you will assess at interval in order to know whether you are achieving your target or not.

 

In setting your goal, you should not close your eyes to what your competitors are doing. You need to look at your competitors’ website. You need to look at for those things that your competitors are doing that seems to be quite successful.
